Week 1 · June 15 to 18, 2026

Foundations and the Integumentary System

Welcome to your first week. We start with the language of anatomy and the body's organization, move through tissues, and finish with the skin. This page is your map for the week: your daily schedule, the pages to study, your case, and the weekly TBL.

  • June 15 to 18, 2026
  • Onboarding week
  • Case: Unknown Case 1
  • TBL on Thursday

Bring to every class

A computer for lecture, and your printed lab materials kept in a dedicated lab binder for study.

Your week at a glance

Four days, building toward one case.

Each week follows the same rhythm. You prepare, you practice, you work a real case with your team, and you present it at the TBL.

Monday

Orientation and Onboarding

Course introduction, syllabus walkthrough, team formation, and tools setup.

Tuesday

Active Learning

A drawing or concept map applied to this week's case content.

Wednesday

Run the Case

Work Unknown Case 1 with your team and build the differential.

Thursday

Present and TBL

Team presentations and the weekly Team-Based Learning session.

Case and TBL

Work Unknown Case 1, then present it Thursday.

Your case this week. Unknown Case 1 runs through the week. Work up the differential live in class with your team, and bring your reasoning to Thursday's TBL.

The weekly TBL. Thursday is your Team-Based Learning session. Come prepared: an individual readiness check comes first, then you take it again with your team, then your team presents its case. The TBL runs on InteDashboard.

Looking ahead

Before Week 2 begins.

Lab Exam 1 · Monday, June 22

Your first lab exam lands the Monday after Week 1. It covers this week, Foundations, Tissues, and the Integumentary System, as fill-in-the-blank identification on histology, microscope slides, models, and cadaver.

No classes June 19 to 21

The Juneteenth weekend is a built-in pause. Use it for your first round of spaced-recall review so Week 2 starts strong.
